What it says on the Tin – and then some!

Haven’t we been here before? You made a tin last year, I got one and I love it. In fact I think it might just be my favourite tin ever.

So you don’t want to know about the new one with the new things in it?

You didn’t say it was a NEW tin!

Well to be fair, you didn’t give me much of a chance.

Hang on a minute. Does it still say what it does on it? I especially loved that about it.

Oh yes! And then some.

You mean it says what it does on it even more than it used to?

Well this tin has a brand new original design by Hana Whaler, and we’ve got it in 3 beautiful new colourways. And what with the whole anniversary thing, we thought it would be nice to mark that in the design.

Oh now I get it – it’s a special commemorative 10th Anniversary edition – a bit like the Queen’s jubilee coin?

I’m not gonna lie and no offence but I reckon it’s nicer looking, more useful and probably of more value knitting-wise than a Jubilee Coin.

Obviously no contest. The tin wins – very Wild and Woolly-ish with a hint of Brasso maybe? But here’s the thing. What I really (like really really really) want to know, is what’s inside.

Whoa! it’s too adorable! But hang on. I already have some scissors. Although thinking about it another pair wouldn’t hurt. And a second Flox tool definitely wouldn’t go amiss. And a few more stitch-holder cords are always useful. But I can do without the tape measure. Can you maybe, possibly, kindly give me a cheeky discount if I leave out the tape measure?

Not only can we leave the tape measure out. You get to decide what you put in. Basically you choose which colour tin you want and then you select from all the bits and pieces. You can even leave it empty and just get the tin to fill with stuff you’ve already got at home.

Ok, I’m on board. Can we talk about what all the knitty bits and pieces are? As you know I love knitty bits and pieces almost as much as I love tins.

With pleasure!

Clockwise from the top left these are the things we’ve got for you to add to the tin..
Fastening tape measure, mini digital yarn weighing scales, Addi embroidery scissors, Tulip Tapestry Needles in a magnetic case, Wild and Woolly Knit Coin gift card, felt sweater kit, 2 x 1m stitch-holder cord tubing, 2 Clover bamboo repair hooks, Flox knitting-crochet tool (use as a cable needle, stitch picker-upper, seam baster, 3rd needle, dropped stitch catcher, stitch holder), Wild and Woolly stitch marker tin (a bit Russian dolls but in a good way) and a freshly minted Wild and Woolly needle gauge laser cut from Canadian Maplewood.

I think you need to talk to me a bit more about that sweater kit – and the scales!!. How is it even possible to have scales and a sweater kit in such a tiny tin?

I’m really pleased you asked about the sweater. It’s a bit of a cheat because you can’t actually wear it, but it’s made of really thick felt and it’s got punch holes arranged around the yoke so you can decorate it with the mini yarn bobbin we included, and then hang it on your Christmas tree, or fix a brooch pin on the back or just keep it in the tin to keep you company.
As for the scales, you know when you’re worried about having enough yarn left for both sleeves when you’ve finished the body? Well you weigh what’s left and just make sure you only use half for each sleeve. Yarn Chicken: nil. Knitter: 1. Same for toe-up socks. Start with 100g, stop the first sock when you’ve got 50g left and start the next one. No left-overs. Every toe’s a winner.

Stop. Stop. Stop. Enough already! The tin says what you do on it and then some. I’ve got an urgent audit of my knitting tools, to conduct. Please tell me you’re well stocked. It may take me some time.

Yes there’s plenty of everything for everyone. Go check on what you need, and come back for your tin when you’re ready. It’ll be here waiting for you.
