The fleece of 3 very distinct sheep breeds come together in this moody blend by John Arbon. The soft, crimpy merino brings its characteristic squoosh, the BFL adds lustre and the bounciness of the magnificently dark Zwartbles creates a yarn with a delicate woolly halo and a really full-bodied texture. This makes it a super choice for cables and rustic lace, and the option to use mini skeins puts colourwork firmly within reach.
Like all of John Arbon’s yarns, Harvest Hues is worsted spun at their Mill in north Devon. The colour palette is created by John Arbon’s signature method of combining different shades of dyed and undyed fleece together with a combing technique that accentuates the blend’s softness, shine and strength. In this way, each shade in the range is made up of mixture of different colours giving an astonishing depth which seems to chime with the colours of the landscape around the mill.
