Urban hand-dyer and long time collaborator, The Wool Kitchen, fluffied up our favourite colourways with the addition of a mohair silk base to her range of beautiful yarns.  Super light and fluffy, mohair silk works on its own for whispy cloud like loose-knit shawls, or held together with a thicker yarn this fine thread will miraculously and subtley introduce Helen’s cosmic colours as well as softness and light-diffusing fluff to your garment knits.

Helen Reed, the dyer behind the yarn, brings a fascination with colours from her urban environment to her practice, whilst also drawing inspiration from constellations and cosmic explosions in the night sky. She approaches dyeing as a knitter, often reverse engineering her colourways from the fabric she’d like to knit up.
Wool Kitchen yarns are dyed up the road from Wild and Woolly in Helen’s garden shed dyeing studio in Walthamstow and we’re thrilled to have had them as part of the Wild and Woolly range from the very beginning.

You can read more about The Wool Kitchen’s dyeing practice in our article, Seeing the World in Neon here.
